Our Performances in Heidenheim
Voith Paper:

The location Heidenheim is the worldwide center of competence for graphic paper machines within the production and manufacturing network of Voith Paper. Heidenheim also hosts the center of competence for coating technology and the production of a number of paper machine components (headboxes, press sections).

In May 2006 the Paper Technology Center in Heidenheim - the most modern paper research center in the world - was opened. With an overall investment of €75 million, the most important center for paper research was constructed in just one and a half years. 140 paper makers, automation experts and paper engineers will use the facility together with Voith customers from around the world to research the paper technology of the future. The Paper Technology Center has transformed Brenztal and the surrounding region into "Paper Valley".

  


Voith Turbo:

The Group Division Voith Turbo includes four Business Areas: Industry, Marine, Rail and Road.

The Business Area Industry produces Hirth serrations in Heidenheim. In addition, hydrodynamic pumps and cardan shafts are developed and sold at this location.

Voith Turbo Marine manufactures propulsion systems for ships in Heidenheim for a wide range of applications: for harbor assistance, escorting, for ferries or military applications and special ships. At the research and development department of Voith Turbo Marine, propeller and ships’ concepts are further optimized.

Heidenheim is the largest production site of the Business Area Rail. Here, hydrodynamic drives for locomotives, railcars and special vehicles, as well as mechanical drives are manufactured. Trams, metros, high-speed trains and locomotives with Voith components are in service with many stateowned and private railways on all continents. Heidenheim is also the central location for research and development.

For Voith Turbo Road, Heidenheim is the worldwide research and development location. Here, start-up elements, torsional vibration dampers and automatic transmissions for buses, trucks and special vehicles are designed and tested.

  


Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation:

Since 1903, Heidenheim has been the home of the "Brunnenmühle", the worldwide research and development center of Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation. Heidenheim also hosts production and service facilities for automation, welding, grinding and works assembly.
